Ramil Muzaffarsky Maharramov, Managing Partner of Tethys Investments were invited as the investment expert guest to the ARB TV 24 News program dedicated to developments and trends in global financial markets. He discussed major events shaping global markets in 2019, risks to economic growth in advanced and emerging economies, US - China and US - EU trade negotiations, Federal Reserve Bank's January 2019 meeting minutes, ECB's January policy meeting minutes, risks to the EU and global markets emanating from Brexit. He noted that amid geopolitical risks, US - China trade frictions, American President's endeavors to re-shape the global trade system in favor of the USA, Britain's unregulated exist from EU, the Fed Reserve will maintain its interest rates stable over the coming months. Similar approach will be adopted by the ECB, which has ended its $3.5T quantitative easing program in December 2018, but plans to use targeted long-term concessional loans to the EU financial system to support the economic growth in the Euro zone. He also noted that majority of economists now expect an economic recession in USA in 2020 or 2021. Economic recession and financial meltdown risks still hang over the China as well. Tethys Investments Managing Partner also shared his thoughts on potential investment opportunities in 2019.
